Our society has one unmistakable expression of boredom. An act that says, "I have achieved complete listnessness, if I had anywhere to go, I would, but as I have absolutely nothing to do, nowhere to go, no possible idea of what to do with my time, no creative impulse whatsoever, my soul is, for the moment, dead...I will do this." This last resort is commonly known as Solitaire. Every computer has it. And, oh!, what a name for a game...Solitaire. As in Solitary. As in, "I am so completely alone and friendless that I cannot be entertained otherwise." :::sigh::: Solitaire.
